What Would You Create in Your Life If You Weren’t Afraid?
I’ve heard this or variations of this question many times. Sometimes people phrase it, “What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?”
Even this second version is not great. It implies that you are not creating what you want because you are afraid of failing. But what if you aren't afraid of failing?
• What if you're afraid of being successful? Afraid you’ll have to keep delivering the goods.
• What if you're afraid of the past repeating itself? That your bad luck is unavoidable.
• What if you're afraid that you don't know enough and that you aren't ready yet? That you need another certification to prove you are good enough.
• What if you're afraid of the future and the unknown? Terrified of those terrible crimes your grandmother described while you watched horror movies together.
• What if you're afraid of failing your obligations and responsibilities? You give away your time, talent and energy, because other people are more important than you.
• What if you're afraid that whatever you're trying to do is meaningless? That the world will judge your life's work as worthless.
• What if you're afraid you'll never get it "right"? You dare not expose your heart’s work until it is perfect.
And just to cover a few more bases … What if you're afraid you're not worthy? What if you're afraid you're not lovable? What if you're afraid to trust yourself? What if you're afraid you won't make the right decision? What if you're afraid of how you'll feel? What if you're afraid of being powerful or powerless? What if you're afraid to be real and authentic? What if you’re afraid of being afraid?
Fear is not a simple or singular thing. It is different for each one of us. The roots of your fears may come from real life experiences when you were threatened or hurt. The origins of my fears might originate from my parents experience of the Great Depression of the 1930s. Many people fear death, illness, or disability. Our global collective unconscious seethes with fears related to war, terrorism, disease, starvation, and nuclear annihilation. We live with fear around us. All the time.
And if that isn’t enough -- many of us are born with certain fears hardwired into our Human Design. These fears flavor everything we attempt. They steal our peace, our sleep, our health, and our ability to trust ourselves. Dealing with fear is one lesson all humans must master.
The good news is that your Human Design chart is a very clear picture of those hardwired fears, along with solutions for mastering them. To see a snapshot of some of your personal boogie men, click here for your Human Design chart.
